dir. Adolf Weltschek
This wonderful stage production confirms that the language of painting perfectly translates into the theatre of form language.
The inspiration for this performance was life and work of an outstanding painter, Marc Chagall and its leitmotif consists in the artist’s love to his dear Bella. Chagall’s paintings come to life on a stage and materialise in physical three-dimensionality. Artistic forms of expression harmonise with each other: actors in masks, puppets, multimedia. A performance without words – created with colour, movement, music. This also contributes to its uniqueness and the power of poetic influence on our imagination.
“The director tells with amazing images, immersed in music and magical Chagallian mood about the triumph of Marc Chagall’s great love for his wife Bella, about how life can be turned into a work of art and about the power of imagination which helps us rise above Earth in the worst of times. (…) Mere words cannot express the diversity of experiences carried by Adolf Weltschek’s performance. You must to see it.” [Magda Huzarska, Polska Gazeta Krakowska].
